The 40th Inter-Ex took place on September 5–6, 2026, in Havay,
near Mons (Belgium), hosted by the Model Club Havay. It was a particularly
symbolic anniversary edition, as the MCH was celebrating its own 30th
anniversary the following week.
The stated goal was quite spectacular: to fly 40 models simultaneously
to mark the 40th edition. Inter-Ex remains true to its core concept:
experimental models, original designs, unconventional machines, and
ideas that break away from the usual norms of aeromodelling.
This event brought together 58 pilots—modellers from various
European countries—with on-site camping and facilities provided by
the club.
The weather forecast leading up to the event was worrying,
predicting strong winds and heavy rain. Fortunately, the skies cleared
by Friday evening, and flying proceeded smoothly throughout the weekend,
despite winds that remained brisk at times. As usual, flying began
on Saturday morning and continued well after dark with night flying,
resuming on Sunday morning and lasting until the awards ceremony in
the early afternoon.
This was the first time the Havay club hosted the event,
and they pulled it off brilliantly—as expected from a club experienced
in organizing major meets. Kudos to the entire team; you did a fantastic
job! And thank you for your hospitality.
Thanks also to all the contributors who shared their photos
and videos.
